Va. NAACP, ACLU in support of Gov. McAuliffe’s restoration of rights

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) – The Virginia NAACP and the Virginia ACLU are speaking out in support of Governor McAuliffe’s move to restore voting rights to more than 200,000 Virginians with previous felony convictions. On Monday, the Virginia NAACP submitted an amicus curiae brief to the Virginia Supreme Court explaining the governor’s executive order was appropriate given the unbroken thread of racial discrimination woven into the Commonwealth’s constitution.
